lauper_ann: My Collection of Little Twin Stars

I started collecting Sanrio items when I was a little girl. I had very little pocket money back then and it took me a long time to save enough money to buy items such as erasers, draw string bags, paper clips, fancy rubber stamps and such. By the time I managed to save that much for something I really liked, the item was already sold. Eventually, I gave up collecting. Some of my childhood collection were misplaced after my family moved. My mom threw away my prized possession; 8 tiny and colourful crayon style erasers in a clear plastic dome shaped case. The erasers had melted and were stuck to the case so she threw them away without asking me...sob :o( This is one item I am still hoping to get one of these days! (I was not successful in bidding for it twice on eBay)

These miniature toys are part of my childhood collection. They were packed with caramel candies or colourful star shaped candies. Made in Japan by a confectionery company known as Morinaga (don't know if they are still in business). They were my all time favourite Sanrio toys and much cheaper to collect back then as they were sold for $1.80 per box and $2.20 much later.
These toys came in perforated segmented boxes which could be unfolded and used as a backdrop for hours of fun, kinda like a paperdoll's cardboard house. They came in various settings such as living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, bakery, etc. Unfortunately I lost all these backdrops when I moved house :o(

This is a vintage Little Twin Stars tin of colour pencils manufactured under licence by Colleen Colour Pencils.
Made in Japan in 1984!

Below are photos of my collection which I have accumulated over the years. I managed to win some on eBay and on Yahoo Auctions (before it was closed). I get most of my items from the local Sanrio stores in Singapore, mainly Mumuya from Suntec City, Takashimaya, Isetan, Far East Plaza and Novena Square (some of their items are more costly than other stores).

I am currently looking for the Sanrio store which was formerly located in Toys R Us Jurong Point branch. They used to sell the Little Twin Stars playset and I am still hoping to find this store or rather, this playset to add to my collection. It was selling for $49.90.
